In 2026, Four-Legged Friends proudly celebrates 20 years of service to cats, kittens, and the communities that care for them. As a Rochester, New York-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is to enrich the lives of displaced cats and kittens while working to reduce cat overpopulation through education, advocacy, rescue, and adoption.
For two decades, we have been committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and helping individuals and communities address the challenges associated with stray, abandoned, and feral cats. By providing education, resources, and support, we empower people to make a meaningful impact in improving feline welfare and reducing homelessness among cats.
Every cat and kitten adopted through FLFAA is spayed or neutered prior to adoption, helping to prevent future overpopulation and ensuring a healthier future for the animals in our care.
FLFAA is entirely volunteer-run and funded through private donations. The compassion, generosity, and support of our community have made our work possible for the past 20 years, and continue to fuel our mission every day.
Today, FLFAA operates as a dedicated foster-based rescue network, with volunteers opening their homes and hearts to cats and kittens in need until they can be placed with loving forever families.
As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we remain committed to creating a brighter future for cats throughout our region and building a community where every cat has the opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and loved life.
